Hospitality Across Three Generations
We are hosts to families, couples and groups of friends who view vacations as something truly special. How did this come about, and how long have we been involved in it
In the Bogensperger family, tourism and hospitality have been passions for three generations. The founder of the Katschberg ski area, Matthias Bogensperger, not only opened the ski lift but also established the first hotel on the mountain - the original Hotel Kastner. The Hotel Kastner was renovated and modernized, offering guests its family charm as a four-star sports and family hotel under the management of Gerti Bogensperger. Later, Gitta Bogensperger, Gerti's daughter (affectionately known as Oma to us), took over the operation. In the early 2000s, the hotel business was sold to the Hinteregger family, and the proceeds were used to further expand the mountain lifts and snowmaking infrastructure on the Katschberg.
For our family, selling the hotel was a tough decision, but it was necessary at the time. Nearly 15 years later, in 2017, the desire to have our own tourist rentals reemerged. We, Seppi and Denise Bogensperger, have been renting holiday homes for a few years, and now we have also fulfilled our dream of building our own chalets. Something we are very proud of. In designing our chalets, we focused on our own needs and wants: good and natural materials, high-quality furnishings, ample space in the house and in the garden, preferring quality over quantity. The Kauz Design Chalets are meant to offer a new vacation experience, like returning to your mountain hideaway, a place you feel right at home and wonderfully welcome.
